Kian Raiszadeh, MD

5807 RaizedehDr. Raiszadeh received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in 1998. He moved back to San Francisco in 2013 due to his love of the Golden Bears and the Bay Area. After completing medical School at UC San Diego, orthopaedic residency at UMDNJ in New Jersey, he then completed his sports medicine fellowship at Kaiser Permanante in San Diego in 2008.

He remained at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego after his fellowship as a staff physician. He then became the Physician in Charge of the San Marcos Kaiser location leading a group of orthopaedic surgeons. His practiced was comprised of shoulder and knee arthroscopy and open shoulder instability and arthroplasty. He trained with experts across the country and worldwide to further hone his open and arthroscopic techniques for shoulder instability and arthritis.

Dr. Raiszadeh has a strong interest in optimizing nonoperative care. He realizes that most conditions can be successfully treated without surgery and only proceeds with surgery when absolutely necessary. He also spends his time with and is passionated about SpineZone (w​ww.spinezone.com), ​a company that helps large health care systems conservatively manage patients with back and neck pain.

He has a strong passion in providing orthopaedic care in developing countries. While at UCSD, he participated in the UCSD/Honduras Exchange Program in 1999. His team help provide basic medical care in Tela, Honduras at this time he learned more about global health issues.

From 2009 to 2012, he worked with Esperanca to create a comprehensive surgical team to provide subspecialty orthopaedic care in Bolivia. Dr. Raiszadeh led a team of 15 healthcare providers in extreme conditions to perform over 100 orthopaedic procedures during this time.
